Did anyone come up with some effective ways at saving your plants during the hard freezes we had this year? I happened to be taking down my Christmas lights when the first freeze was coming and thought it would be a good idea to help protect the plants since they put out a fair amount of heat. I wrapped the base of each plant and then put a tarp over plants and watered it down. The plants with more wraps faired the best. This was more effective than just the tarps which I had used the previous winter because most of the plants survived all but a night of 12 hours below freezing. Does anyone else have some tricks that work well?
