A male showed up in mid-March then the females about April 1st. I have at least 2 nesting females this year. One around the front & one off the back of my house. The most I've seen at one time is 3, but the babes are just now leaving the nest, so I should be able to count more. One is super protective of the feeders & even though I have 5 placed around the yard - he/she found a perch so he can see them all and chase off any other visitors.... Even so my feeders are emptying fast!

Hi, Sharon, how many are you seeing now?
I live in Clermont and see at least two females and a male pretty much every day now.

The Hummers are sucking my feeders dry! I have 6 four oz feeders throughout the yard and every 3 days, three are totally empty and 3 are half empty. That means they are going thru 18oz in 3 days. Does anyone know If there a formula to figure how many hummers I may have? Right now there are plenty around, but most I've seen at one time is 4. Here are pics of 3 I took today out my office window.... An adult male for sure, A young male & a female I think, Plus a Bonus visitor!

I'm in Sorrento, just down the road from Mount Dora, and I've had at least one male and two females in my yard since March. They are all still here. I'm not going through nectar very fast though. They spend more time on the flowers in the garden than they do on the feeders. I've not seen anything else on the feeders except a couple of House Finches once.

Still have a few female ruby hummers hanging around- they are busy feeding today. I am hoping they'll stay the winter this year, they have all flown away by now in previous years.
