First sighted male hummingbird on the morning of October 10 in the "Westchester" area of Miami, Florida. Today, October 23, the female was spotted. Observed both male and female together. This is the second consecutive year I have seen this breed in my backyard. Last year they were present for 5 months, from October to March 2010.

Today is April Fourth 2015. I bought a Hummingbird attraction package of seed from on of the well known seed company. I have a number Lantana, Red Pentax and a four foot firebush the housing maintainer department was pruning at the wrong time so it hasn't flower consistently. I talked them into only pruning the sidewalk side of the plant. Am preparing for next year's Hummer's return to Miami and see if I can attract them. Am in Allappatta area of Miami. Not well know for birds and birdwatching, but am going under the theory that if we feed them, they will come Hopefully I have something to report for next year's. ENJOY life until then, Carlos
