Hope this helps some who are interested in knowing where the Hummers have been reported in FL! In adition how to isolate the reports to which time of the year, in other words Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter or year round! eBird. org provides a wealth of data which can be depicited in map form for easy use. ebird.org/content/ebird/"Explore Data" Tab, "Species Map" selection, Then select the species, date period, and location (Florida) Explore the site, there is far more information there than most of us will ever use but the site answers many questions. Hope this helps, especially for those new to hummingbirds and birding in general. Regards, Joe M. Lakeland

Just moved to Clearwater Fl from Louisiana. What time of year should I expect to see hummingbirds here? What are good plants for this location to attract hummingbirds?

Carl, You could attract them year round depending on your neighborhood. There are a lot of good plants for attracting hummingbirds to the Clearwater area. Read the posts in the Landscaping for Hummingbirds board for a complete list. A short list would include Firespike, firebush, shrimp plants, honeysuckle, and salvias.
