I live in a community with controlled landscaping and maintenance. This is a wonderful time saver, but limits what I can do to plant attractants for the hummingbirds. I currently have some feeders just outside of my lanai and have considered planting something inside that would work as a visual attractant. Does anyone have any ideas on wether or not this would work?

It may help but it would be best if some flowers could be somewhere outside the lanai. Are you able to place a few potted plants anywhere outside? Maybe a potted Pentas or some geraniums or impatiens on a table or bench?

Hi, while I am new to attracting hummingbirds, recently it was shared with me, that hummers can & do enjoy some plants planted in window sill boxes & hanging planters & reported to fly up to 500 ft to reach up. (paraphased) from www.phoebeallens.com Which I just started mini container garden for Hummers, today. Perhaps this will help you to attract them to your community area

That's my balcony at the bottom of the home page. They will feed anywhere. The more flowers, the better.

Does anyone know how to insert a photo? I wanted to show a pic of some of the plants I have planted in my back yard. Linda
