I live in north Clearwater and I was in my yard watching other birds when a hummer came over the fence. It gobbled up a few flying insects that were circling around and before I recovered from my shock it was gone. There's no telling what kind it was because the sun was in my eyes. I had no idea there were hummers in this part of FL at this time of the year. I will definitely be keeping a better watch and I will report any new sightings. I have a honeysuckle and some salvias and one hummingbird feeder but I have never seen a hummer in FL before today. I've been here 9 years. We had tons of RTs in our yard in NH and I really missed having them around!

Where in North Clearwater? I live in Dunedin, right on the city line. I saw my first hummer after some nasty storms that came through last weekend. I walked out front at dusk and looked up and saw it hovering at an angel trumpet flower. I have a feeder close by but it didn't seem to notice it, only flew away.

Hi Carrie,
I live in the Countryside area, close to Curlew. I have not seen one since that day. I am hoping to start seeing some soon since they should be migrating through.
