So I have 3 feeders in my backyard. One of them I picked up at Sam's club about a week ago. It was $9.99 and it came with a feeder and two bottles of nectar, the red colored nectar. I filled the Sam's club feeder and hung it out back. Two days later I noticed it was empty. It holds alot of fluid, maybe 16oz. I refilled it and the other two. One is a Humzinger and the other is an 8oz glass bottle feeder. The next morning two of the three were about half full. The Hunzinger was comnpletely full. Two days later the two were emply and the Humzinger is still full. Can Hummingbirds empty out feeders that fast or is something else drinking all the nectar? I am thinking about getting a few more of the Sam's club packages because at $9.99 I think it is a good deal. Most feeders cost over $10.00. I am confused to say the least and I have not seen any Hummers so I am a little bummed out. Thanks for any and all help.

'richnmib, You certainly would have noticed dozens of hummers around your feeders if it were hummers that were emptying them! I suspect you may have a hairline crack in the 16 oz one that emptied in two days. Fill it with water and place it in a sink or the tub and check for leaks. I don't use nor recommend that folks use the pre made solution, no one really knows the long term efect on hummers and the red coloring is unnecessary. The red absorbs sunlight, heats up and spoils quicker than the home made 4/1 mixture. The big clue to your solution loss is the fact that the 'hummzinger (dish type) experienced no loss. Joe M. I would think that the leak were true but I have cypress mulch under all three feeders and there is no red staining on the mulch under any of the feeders. I will double check though. Thank you. I did mix up the standard 4:1 mixture for the future

I've had issues with racoons emptying all of my lower hanging Perky Pet feeders during the night. Squirrels will drink from some feeders.

Thanks Steve, I wonder if bats could be cleaning out my hummingbird feeders?
