I have an Aspect Jewel Box window feeder that I bought last year and had a few RTH feed from it last year. I have been happy with the ease of its use, ability to keep it clean, and it seems very sturdy. I put it up this year and have a male RTH that keeps visiting it but he can not seem to figure out how to find the hole to access the sugar water. He has visited it several times over the last week and he flies around the sides of the feeder but the holes are on the top of the feeder. I have several RTH in my yard that feed from 3 Perky Pets glass feeders and I have had no problems with them. Has anyone had any experiences with this window feeder? Does anyone have any recommendations for a better window feeder?

I have a feeder that attaches with suction cups to the window. Several RT hummers come and use the holes on top but I do have one that flies around the edges and uses its tongue where the feeder's red top meets the clear bottom. It does seem to get some nectar that way (perhaps some dried sweetness?) because it keeps coming back and doing the same thing. Odd.

This is my first experience with trying to attract hummingbirds. What is the best way ? Do I need to buy the sweet water from the store? Do they stay around during the winter? I live in Northwest Florida.

Plenty of ideas but in answer to your question, NO!
