We hung the first feeder up in July last year. I start seeing one stopped by after a rain in the afternoon in two days. We didn't know anything and wondered why we didn't see them later. This year, we see two fighting for the same feeder. We will put up one more. I find the smallest feeder are good because you keep the nectar fresh. It is easy to see them because their speed is high. When I feel a black spot fly by quickly, I can see them. They seem to avoid hot SUNY weather and tend to appear in the morning or after/during a rain.
