A report of a White-eared Hummingbird from Bay County in August of 2004 was accepted by the Florida Ornithological Society Records Committee during their meeting on August 15th. I don't know the specifics of the sighting, only that there were photographs. This brings the official list of hummingbirds in Florida to 11 species although there are many who have seen a twelfth hummingbird species in Florida. The Cuban Emerald has been reported in the state on a number of occasions with some of those reports being by very experienced birders but they all lack documentation by photo or video.
