Do the birds leave when it gets hot? I am in passco co port richie area if that helps my nectar is good I change it every 4 days so not to have any mold issues as the last thing I want is to hurt the birds Any info would be much apreciated I honestly Mis watching them as I have my coffee out back When will they return ? Thank you all Always appreciate knowing where you live since it makes a difference in FL. I suspect you may be living in central to south FL, which means you may have very few hummers during the summer months. Heat may be a factor in the summer population of hummers in central and south FL. It certainly plays a role in my heading north to MA in the summer where the hummer population is quite robust.

Hi, I just found this site and appreciate all the info about hummingbirds. Being in north Florida, I have hummingbirds from mid March till about now. Recently returned from a 2 week trip and cleaned and replaced the sugar water in the feeders . They must be gone now . Each year I have had regular visitors and will even fly near me as I change the feeders . They love the flowers on my petrea vine and the lantana . They are such a delight to watch. Thanks again.
