MRT at feeders this afternoon. Put feeders out only a few days ago. Plants currently blooming in yard include Fire Bush, Red Fire Spike, Shrimp Plant, Popcorn Vine, Salvia, Honeysuckle, and Duranta.
22 Sep - FRT or possibly juvenile male showed up at feeder today along with what I believe is the adult MRT reported previously. 26 Sep - FRT seen each day since initial report. Saw her nectaring at Red Fire Spike yesterday.
2 Nov - FRT and MRT continue daily since first reported sighting to visit the feeders and various nectar plants in our backyard. Pretty good indication that they intend to winter over.
END of 2016-2017 RT wintering over period
3 Apr 2017 - This was the last sighting of any of the RTs that have been at my backyard flowers and feeders pretty much daily since the first sighting back 22 Sep. I've kept up my routine of keeping the feeders cleaned and filled and it is now the 17th so I officially call this season over for me here in Naples.
