Good afternoon. We would like to know if you or anyone has seen Hummingbirds in the Saint Petersburg area? We have had one feeder up for about a month, after reading other post we will buy more feeders if the birds are around. Thank you. Clark . This post was moved from Hummingbird Feeders board.Clark, They have been reported from throughout Pinellas County. There are no guarantees that a hummingbird will find any one yard but offering landscaping and feeders will improve the odds. We're nearing the end of the migration season which will likely lower your odds some but anything is possible. Steve

Steve... what date do you consider the END of the migration season? Just curious... thanks! Pat

It could be any day now. But, they are still being reported from areas to our north like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and New York.
I was recently reading a quote from Nancy Newfield where she said essentially that in most years, migration is pretty much over by mid-October but approximately one out of every five years it lasts into November. This appears to be the year that it will last into November.
