Hey all, glad to have found this forum! I have been a fan of hummingbirds for years and have had the pleasure of seeing them in Derry, NH, Montauk (on Long Island), NY, Bloomington, IN, Nassau, Bahamas, Delray Beach, Fl, & here in southern Brevard county.
We currently have a regular female Ruby Throated that is using a feeder & also our Cape Honeysuckle. She has been here everyday now for at least a month.
I believe we also have another, smaller bird occasionally stopping by using another feeder. This does seem to be a different bird as it doesn't perch in the orange tree that the other one likes. We haven't yet seen 2 at once though.
We did have hummers come by during the summer too, so seems we do have year round residents here.
I had heard from fellow residents of our community that hummers were frequent visitors here when I first moved into the area. Don't have contact with any of them though.
I hope to have more to report in the future!

Hey all! Just wanted to report that our "usual" hummers have made it through all these freezing nights (unlike our Cape Honeysuckle) and it seems we are also helping sustain some newcomers as well. One even sat on one of the feeders for almost 20 minutes the other day! It appeared to be a young male. If we'd known it was going to be there for so long we would have gotten the camera out! I put up a 3rd feeder after our first freeze and that one is being used now too. We had so many nights of below freezing, that most of the flowering plants in our area have sustained quite a bit of damage even if they were covered, so I'm sure we'll continue to see a lot of activity at our feeders.
