As the numbers of people who appreciate hummingbirds increases, so do the numbers of people who will profit from it. Many of them are people who genuinely share our interest and have found a way to improve it while helping themselves. I want to able to encourage these people to continue what they're doing, especially when the birds are benefiting from their efforts.
This may be especially important now as the economy is pressing many to cut back and spend less which may hurt some of these efforts. Hopefully, we can acknowledge those who are doing a good job, whether it be selling a service or a product.
We need to also keep others in mind with our posts. There will likely be some disagreement to a post of this nature eventually and I feel both sides of a story will need to be told. So long as we can keep it civil and agree to leave some topics unresolved, I don't see this being a problem. If I'm wrong and we experience issues, I'll delete this board.
Feel free to create threads and discuss any products or vendors here. This is your opportunity to "advertise" any product that you've found to have improved your experience. The only requirement is that it must relate in some way to hummingbirds, which could include gardening, feeding of other birds, etc.
I've recently had to delete a number of posts that don't meet the criteria for posting to this board. I will continue to delete these posts as soon as I see them and may ban the member after a first offense. If I've made a mistake and deleted an appropriate post and/or banned a member by mistake, PM me and explain the relevance of the post and I'll allow the post cancel the ban. If a post is determined to not be acceptable but was posted with good intentions, I'm not going to threaten the individual with banning. This board is supposed to be for the good of all. Please don't be afraid to post here for fear of the wrath of the admin.

Unfortunately, if these posts continue, I'll be forced to make posting to the forum by members only and membership will need to be approved by an administrator. A message explaining an interest in hummingbirds will be required for membership. I don't want to have to do this as I see it deterring some from joining but I also want to ensure that any links shared on posts are for the enjoyment of hummingbirds and not for any unrelated personal gain (or worse). Please be cautious of links on any posts, especially ones having nothing to do with hummingbirds.
