Yesterday afternoon about 4:30, I noticed a hummer on my flat feeder. Not many use this feeder but from the picture I got, it appears to be a female Rufous. Joe M., here in Lakeland agrees. It might be my female from last year but I do not see a band on her . Either way, its my second , still have the male "owning" the back yard.

Just found out that the rufous is my "Ruffie" from last year. Fred Bassett was here today and caught her. She had a band and the number is the same as the one Doreen put on last year. So now "Ruffie" is a 2nd year bird and the first confirmed returning Rufous in Lakeland!
Unfortunately, he was not able to catch my immature male. Little guy flew all around it and fed from plants nearby but wouldn't go in the cage. However, he is still here - watching him now on the same feeder Fred used!
