Trout Lake is a small independent non-profit Nature Center in Lake County Florida. Friday Night Naturalist programs often focus on an animal to encourage people to think about the match between adaptations and habitat. And, to encourage the audience to think about the choices they make and their impact on the natural world. I would love to offer a program on hummingbirds, with a focus on providing habitat.
Do you know anyone who is really into hummingbirds in Central Florida?
This person could be a biologist or a backyard birder/gardener, but would have first person observations of hummingbird behavior and habitat needs.
Hopefully they can also make recommendations for native landscape plants which attract hummers to one's yard.
I am interested in a program at Trout Lake Nature Center on a Friday Evening starting at 6:00pm.
We can pay a small stipend to someone who offer this.
