I have seen at least 1 (male) Ruby-throated at my home feeder (Spring Hill) every day from April 5th (2011) to today (April 16th inclusive). Looks like he's here to stay? Also (briefly) 1 female & perhaps one other male. Attachments:

I am also from spring hill, and have had hummingbirds all summer. I recently caught them feeding on my four o'clocks all evening. I've noticed they are feeding up to 11:00 o'clock in the evening. I never knew they feed that late, i would like to know if this is normal, and if anyone else noticed it. thanks dave, spring hill

I for one, would state that it is 'totally' abnormal! Suggests that what you are observing are 'Sphinx Moths' or some other large moth, rather than hummingbirds. Hummingbirds are not known to feed in the night time, although they will migrate in the evening according to research literature. They will usually go to 'roost' just before or at sunset and not be active until sunrise. Joe M. Sturbridge, MA
