I wanted to let anyone interested know I found this plant at Lowes on Lumsden in Brandon. I've never seen it for sale here and it is a favorite plant for hummingbirds.

It appears after reading further on this site that Bat Face Cuphea may not be the magnet I thought it was.
I apologize for the confusion.

It is cuphea ignea and candycorn cuphea that are hummer magnets. Especially, cuphea ignea. However, they may like batface cuphea if that is all they have.

The first Bat-faced Cuphea (Cuphea llava) that I had was the one pictured here: This was not favored by hummingbirds. I've since seen C. llava sold as Bat-faced Cuphea - Twinkle Pink and Flamenco. I have seen them feeding at the Twinkle Pink. The Twinkle Pink has multiple small ears while the Flamenco has 4 fat ears and comes in a couple of colors. Steve
