This was so exciting for our family that I had to tell someone. It is dusk in Davie ( western Fort Lauderdale) and my cat was sitting on a bench with his head going quickly from one spot to another all around my night blooming jasmine. I told my wife and then said look at the size of that bumble bee. We went in for a closer look and saw our first ever Florida hummingbird. We've seen hundreds at my in-laws house in the mountains of North Carolina). My daughter came outside and we watched it for several minutes, cat in our arms. We were able to get very close and I tried to take picture with my phone but it was too dark. We couldn't see any bright colors mostly brown and black, and it was very small about the size of a large mouth. Very fast also making us hustle from one side of the large jasmine to the other. I know this doesn't mean much to anyone else since the pictures didn't come out and we can't really say what kind of hummingbird it was, but it was loads of fun for us. The jasmine has been in full bloom for several days and I will watch closely tomorrow. All The Best, Kelly

Did it come back? I know how exciting that can be. I'm always trying to attract them here. I saw my first one last year and he was just looking as if reading the menu, then left. Hopefully I'll get some this year. I have no feeders but lots of plants for them. You name it I probably have some.
