I am new to northeastern Florida. I am seeing frequent visits from a hummingbird that very much resembles a Ruby Throat. However, this one has an iridescent black throat. Anyone know what kind it might be?

Sounds like it might be a Black-chinned, although in some lighting, ruby-throated birds might look that way too.

if it has a white collar between his throat and his gray breast then it's probably a rt. frequently, with a "from under" view the red will not be seen.
