A Rufous Hummingbird was reported in Slidell LA last Thursday, 7/30, and another was reported in North Carolina on Sunday 8/2.
The Rufous that has visited my yard each winter since being banded in November of 2003 arrived last year on 8/15 and 8/13 the year before. The earliest that I've found her has been on August 9th. I'm spending extra time int he yard every day with my fingers crossed.
