Palm City, on an abandoned golf course, whose landscaping is neglected but thriving! Single, female feeding on a firebush this morning, so fast but I got a good look to ID as a female. I've been a birder for 20+ years in Florida and I haven't seen a hummingbird in 2 years but today was special. She was solo, I am sure there are more to be seen so I will return tomorrow to the same spot and look for more! Thanks for this website, my first post. Butterflies are my passion too!

Many of us plant for both butterflies and hummers. Be aware that your area is ripe with hummers in the winter and what we are all seeing now are apparent migrants heading south. Many friends in Palm Beach County haven't seen their first winter migrants yet. Enjoy them and keep your feeders out and you will blessed to see them all winter.
