Is the annual count coming up soon? I seem to remember it being in late February last year.

The Great Backyard Bird Count was last weekend, Friday through Monday. I've tried to use this count as a way to document Florida's wintering hummingbirds. Unfortunately, I've been very busy and failed to to get the word out this year. The data was collected on eBird this year. ebird.org/content/ebird/Reports can be posted on eBird on any day. Even though it's not "The Count", all reports to eBird will help build a database of sightings in Florida.

I tried to post this year but mine never showed up - not just the hummingbirds but the total report. I tried to contact them and no one would answer my email. It showed up that I had entered my birds but my name never showed up on any of the lists.

Great backyard count. Does anyone know when it will be for 2015? I get painted buntings as well (though none banded, nor have I had banded hummies), and I'd like to know more about this. I was really excited to see a florida specific hummingbird site. I think it would be great to know where people see hummies when, and for how long for different areas of the state. And if I can help the birds, all of them, I would like that.
