Just saw my first Hummingbird in Florida...I have lived here since 1985!
She was feeding on flowers and flowering bushes in my backyard and proceeded to come within a foot of my face and just hovered there.
Beautiful creature!!! Was not even concerned with my dogs that were out with me.

Sunshine, I'm happy that you finally got to see a hummingbird and had such an especially close encounter! I am seeing ruby-throats most days in east Orlando these last few weeks. I think some of them are juveniles. They have been checking out all the flowers, and partaking lately from mexican sunflower and cuphea. :-)
