Hi, I am new to this forum and would love to know if there is a way to have the hummingbirds year around. I live in north Florida, close to the Panama City area. I notice these green hummingbirds come very seldom, around Oct, of every year. How can I get them (or help them) come more and more of them? (PS I also have hummingbird Moths AKA Sphinx Moth show up right before the hummingbirds do. )

Donna you should get a lot of hummingbird during the spring and fall migrations. Plant a lot of plants the hummingbirds like and keep a couple of feeders up year-around. I live in Lecanto and have hummingbirds most of the year. Last winter I had a female stay all winter, this was the first hummingbird that I had over-winter in my yard.

Gatorjoe Thanks! So far, I have 1 hummingbird feeder (BTW, it is a red glass feeder) and two plants for the hummingbirds. So, I will put up more feeders<the little plastic ones.> and add some more Petunias & Honeysuckle vines- does that sound good? thanks again for the info.

The more hummingbird plants the better. I don't know what grows in your area but Firebush and Firespike are two favorites in my yard but they will die back to the ground during bad winters in my area.
