11/19/15 At 11 in the morning I sighted an unidentified hummingbird feeding at my red sleeping hibiscus for about 2 minutes. It left when the neighbors yard service came around. Also known as "Turks Cap" it is a a flowering shrub that Hummers occasionally visit. Next time you see the bird visiting your flowers try to observe its size and colors (particularly its back, breast, throat and tail. I assume it was feeding for two minutes on many blooms, moving from one to another blooms trying to satisfy his or her energy needs. Definitely unidentified at this time, hope it returns for another look. Most likely its a Ruby-throated!
