At the Riverview Target (Bloomingdale & Lake Gornto Road) I found a hummingbird plant called either Lion's Ear or Lion's Tail, and put it in my cart.
When I checked out at the Garden store register, two people at the register noticed my plant and when I said it was a hummingbird plant, they responded that they had a couple of hummingbirds at their house too.
Then the garden cashier said that last summer a hummingbird flew into the garden center and started feeding on a honeysuckle. He said he thought it was a big bee, then investigated and found it was a hummingbird and that it had a bright blue chest.
I thought it was very interesting that of the three other people in the garden center, all stated that they had hummers or had seen hummers. These little birds must be far more numerous in Florida than I had realized.
