We have 3 Hummers in my yard at this time. I believe they are all ruby-throated but I am not sure. 1 is an adult female and I believe the others are juvenile male and female ruby throated.

Lots of reported sightings in the area. Are the hummers feeding at a feeder or flowers? Are you still seeing hummers in your yard?

Both, but I have not seen them in about 4 days. They are still eating from the feeders through because the sugar water levels are going down. Joe

I have seen what I believe to be 2 males having a tussle over a feeder, 1 is an young male just starting to get the red on his neck, the second I did not get a good look at.We also have a mature female in the yard.

Hi, I am near Lecanto in Citrus Springs. We have had two Hummers visit our feeder for several months this summer but we have not seen them for a few days now. Would this be their time to head south? They appeared to be a male & female Ruby-throated pair.

It is definitely time for summering birds to head south but that doesn't mean to take your feeders down. Birds will be migrating through for the next month or so. Even after that, more birds, including ones of other species, may show up any time during the remainder of the winter.
