Happy to find this board! We "migrated" to the Sarasota area from Pennsylvania and I brought along my hummingbird feeder. I was just in PA and saw some hummingbirds. When would be a good time to put out my feeder here? I think we saw a hummingbird a few weeks ago, but I would think it's too hot to expect them to be in this area right now. Should I wait until December or January, or is there a chance they really are here and I'm just not attracting them with flowers or feeder nectar?

Here is a link to one of the best native plant nurseries Ive ever been to, it is in your neck of the woods, off of Fruitville Road in Sarasota.

There is also a nearby nursery worth visiting, that specializes in exotic fruits.
I have always seen hummingbirds at both of these nurseries, regardless of time of year. Sometimes by the dozen!
Good luck! Please keep us updated.

What is the name and location of the exotic fruit Nursery where there are many hummingbirds? What plants and flowers are good to attract hummingbirds in North Sarasota?
